commission piece
Finally finished! This commissioned piece took me a bit out of my comfort zone. I'm sure it will look good framed and on a wall inside this home. I'm happy it's done and I'm looking forward to starting two paintings I've had planned–A sunflower and the other, a barn in a cotton field.

Graceful Symmetry–The painting
Graceful Symmetry was inspired by a Gardenia bush that is planted in my front yard. One day I happened upon a perfectly symmetrical bloom. I took some photos for reference and created this warm and inviting painting.

Autumn Rain
Autumn is finally in the air! I'm looking forward to getting out and taking pictures of the fall foliage. New pictures leads to new paintings!
Autumn Rain was an enjoyable study of warm and cool colors. I Painted this scene on a 6 X 8 inch Birch panel and protected it with a high gloss varnish. I continued the scene on the sides to give it a gallery wrapped look so it displays nicely with or without a frame.
In celebration of the changing of the seasons, I'm offering 15% this piece! Use PROMO CODE: AUTUMN
Oh yes, here's a little secret–You can use this promo code on any original painting currently listed at my store.

Graceful Symmetry
Sometimes, being a good photographer means being in the right place at the right time and being observant to our surroundings. This Gardenia bush grows in front of my porch. I saw this bloom and ran for my camera. Not two hours after shooting this photo, the bloom had completely changed. I am glad I was there to witness its graceful symmetry.

Tiger Lilies
Wild Tiger Lilies have been growing wild along the roadside all summer long. I took some time earlier this summer to take some photographs for reference. The colors really contrast against Virginia's Green backgrounds.
